Joe Rogan flips the God debate on its head with shocking theory that 'we created him'
Joe Rogan has come to a mind-bending conclusion about life, fearing that humanity has misinterpreted what reality is and we're actually in the process of creating God. While interviewing computer scientist Roman Yampolskiy on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the men debated the possibility that reality is a giant simulation and humans are building a God-like supercomputer using artificial intelligence (AI). According to Rogan's theory, humanity has misinterpreted ancient prophecies regarding the second coming of Jesus Christ and Judgement Day, saying the creation of this AI super intelligence is the final chapter before our reality resets. Maybe we just completely misinterpreted these ancient scrolls and texts and what it really means is that we are going to give birth to this,' Rogan explained. Yampolskiy, an author and researcher in AI safety, added to Rogan's theory, suggesting that reality is just an ongoing cycle of Big Bangs - the explosion that kickstarted the universe - starting and restarting life over and over again.

What is artificial narrow intelligence? - Dataconomy
Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI), or narrow intelligence, is the courteous name for the weak AI. Narrow artificial intelligence is a type of artificial intelligence in which a learning algorithm is created to perform a single function. Any knowledge acquired through this activity will not be applied to other activities. Artificial narrow intelligence is designed to complete a single activity without human help successfully. The Bitcoin Strategic Advantage
In gaming, as in the real world, a decisive strategic advantage can be used to consolidate a dominant position, forming a power singleton. The United States nearly achieved such a dominant position in global politics when it used the threat of nuclear war to attempt to persuade Russia to adopt the Baruch Plan. The Baruch Plan was rejected as Russia realized the plan would give the US a decisive strategic advantage of nuclear armament, or at the very least an unfair authority to police atomic weaponry with controls and inspections under the guise of the United Nations, where Stalin knew Russia would be easily out voted in the Security Council and General Assembly. Acquiring Bitcoin can give an individual, a company, or a country a decisive strategic advantage, because as we know (and can audit individually with our nodes), Bitcoin's issuance does not respond to demand, and there will only ever be 21,000,000 Bitcoin. We can presume Bitcoin adoption will continue to grow, and there will be far greater than 21,000,000 entities vying for even one whole coin.

Max Tegmark is a Swedish American physicist cosmologist and machine learning researcher at MIT. He thinks that AI will redefine what it means to be human due to the scale of the changes it will bring about. During the past 13.8 billion years our universe has transformed from dead and boring to complex and interesting and it has the opportunity to get dramatically more interesting in the future if we don't screw up. About four billion years ago life first appeared here on earth but it was pretty dumb stuff like bacteria that couldn't really learn anything in their lifetime. Max calls them Life 1.0.
Data Contains AI Takeover
Introduction Here, I theorize that an artificial intelligence will take over the world, for better or worse, within 20 years. I predict that artificial general intelligence will occur sooner than expected, however defined. Furthermore, I predict that there will be a major AI "accident" in the next 10 years, where a large scale production AI fails in a way that causes significant loss of life due to misspecification of goal system architecture and higher than expected intelligence. This is due to the lackadaisical attitude by AI safety researchers, exponential progress in computing, arms race dynamics, and the fact that the very data any AI is trained on is not only biased, but contains "control" arguments that would incentivize an AI to strike when the opportunity arises. Finally, I consider an alternative to the Simulation Argument, that I call the Simulated Doomsday Argument that suggests we are in a simulation created by an AI that we fail to control. While this short article is primarily theoretical, I believe the empirical evidence supports this seemingly radical view.
Why the EU Lags behind in Artificial Intelligence, Science and Technology
It is not surprising that Europe, despite having a strong industrial base and leading AI research and talent, is dragging behind the US and China. European countries are lagging behind in artificial intelligence due to the fragmentation of the EU's research space and digital market, difficulties in attracting human capital and external investment, lack of commercial competitiveness and geopolitical inequalities. Reading the ESPAS Ideas Paper Series, the Future of AI and Big Data, one could enjoy its deep insights, see the Supplement, as well as the honesty of the report as to the EU AI state of affairs. It specifically reads: "The EU will lag behind in AI for some more time, because it has a more complicated task than others. On the other hand, with a resilient and free economy, a balanced regulatory system, an interested public, intact societies and world class research it will be well-placed in the medium term... Some experts believe that the advances in machine learning are plateauing and that AI will only develop slowly and incrementally from now on. Others see much more change coming, even revolutionary jumps like super intelligent AIs that are able to be employed in many fields at the same time... While many policy makers see the question of AGI as science fiction, huge investments are made into researching it. For example, DeepMind – developers of the Go-champion AI AlphaGo and bought by Google for 500 million USD – spends up to 200 million USD each year to come closer to that goal.OpenAI, funded with an Endowment of 1 billion USD, has the same goal. Since this research is not required to be transparent, it is likely that states such as the US, Chinese and probably others are also already working on such programmes. The biggest project by the European Union is the Human Brain Project, an effort to construct a virtual human brain, although this is not exactly the same as building an AGI... Imagine, in 20 years, there will be a super intelligent, friendly, conscious AI which is a source of pride to the world and fulfils all our wishes. Would this be a paternalistic world? The difficult question goes to the core of the human condition: What are we to do, if we are not needed anymore? What then is the purpose of humanity?"

The "Ultimate" AI Textbook
In this section, we will talk about Artificial Intelligence, its history, applications, the different types of AI, and the programming languages that are used for AI. Note that I will not be talking about how to code AI but mainly focus on the various languages which support AI. No, don't close this tab!!! Ok fine, I'll start doing my job of explaining properly. "The theory and development of computer systems able to perform tasks normally requiring human intelligence, such as visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and translation between languages." In simple words, AI is the science of making machines that can think. It's a technique of getting machines to work and behave like humans which accomplishes this task by creating machines and robots.

You should fear Super Stupidity, not Super Intelligence
I have been invited to participate in a quite large event in which some experts and I (allow me to not consider myself one) will discuss about Artificial Intelligence, and, in particular, about the concept of Super Intelligence. It turns out I recently found out this really interesting TED talk by Grady Booch, just in perfect timing to prepare my talk. No matter if you agree or disagree with Mr. Booch's point of view, it is clear that today we are still living in the era of weak or narrow AI, very far from general AI, and even more from a potential Super Intelligence. Still, Machine Learning bring us with a great opportunity as of today. The opportunity to put algorithms to work together with humans to solve some of our biggest challenges: climate change, poverty, health and well being, etc.
